Therapy Approaches

Humanistic Integrative Therapy

The goal of this approach is to nurture wholeness so that the quality of individuals’ functioning in life is maximised. The work focuses on understanding through active exploration of experience rather than being goal oriented. This therapy encourages the capacity of the client and aims to nurture a movement towards self-healing.

Person-Centred Therapy

The attitude of the therapist is stressed here, striving for active listening, reflection of feelings, clarification and focusing on the moment-to moment experience of the client. It is a non – directive empathic approach that empowers and motivates the individual in the therapeutic process.

Reality Therapy

This approach focuses on problem-solving and making better choices in order to achieve specific goals This therapy does not discuss pass events

Psychodynamic Therapy

This focuses on unconscious processes as they are manifested in an individual’s present behaviour This approach attempts to help clients understand and deal with past conflicts.

Cogntive Behaviour Therapy

This approach focuses on how a person’s thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect his or her feelings and behaviours. This is achieved by forming alternative interpretations, learning new coping skills & confronting faulty behaviours.
